combinning weight trainning with cardio workouts for weight loss
one of the best things along with dieting ofcource for some one who is trying to lose weight to do,is to combine weight trainning with cardio workouts but in our gyms,in most cases we start the members who are trying to lose weight with a cardio workout only,the reason,we don't want to stress the body of some one who is new to exercise with a heavy workout load right at the start,also we want to make sure that the member is following the right eating regimen and is sucesfull in losing the first few kilos,once that is done,weight trainning is added,we have been very pleased with the results.
lose skin
very rarely,someone joins who has a legitimate lose skin problem where exercise alone will not help and surgery is needed,but on most occasions,people who think that they have lose skin and are planning surgery,don't actually have it,what they have is more fat to lose,those are people who have been dieting so long and lost so much weight,they weren't aware that there is a little bit more dieting to do and more weight to be lost,so please when in doubt don't rush to the plastic surgeon,come in for my opinion.
please let my receptionists do their jobs
everyone who is a member at my gyms or is planning to join should know that i don't give discounts and that my rules are there for a reason and that i will not favour a member over another,so please let my trainned receptionists do their jobs and don't call me asking for favours and discounts,i don't have time for that and you will be disappointed,whenever i walk to a store and don't like the price of an item that i am intrested in buying,you don't see me asking for the owners phone number so i can bother him with my demands.
our rates are very very reasnoble and our rules are reasnble as well,it is just that every now and then we run into people who think that they are better then every one else and that rules don't upply to them.
intresting story
i want to share with you this story,a company that conduct tests and analize food products to see if the food values and nutritional contents on food labels are correct,got a big surprize,after testing two diffrent can's of tuna of the same brand at two seperate occasion's,they discoverd that one can had twice the caloric content of the other,so after extended research,it was clear to them what was the cause of that,they discoverd that tuna is a travelling fish,that tuna eat a lot and gain weight and fat at the start of their journey,they lose so much of the weight and fat at the end of their trip,so if the tuna was caught at the start of the trip,the calories in the can will be higher,if the tuna was caught at the end of the trip the calories would be lower.believe it or not.i am starting a new travel agency that gurantee's over weight people the loss of their excess weight on arrivel at their destination,sorry i mean loss of luggage.i know bad joke.
personal trainning
i want those who are intrested in personal vip one on one training,to know that for now we will not be offering this service during our peak hours which are 5:oopm to8:00pm.any other time is ok.
breast size
some lady members sometimes ask questions that my staff are shy in answering,there is nothing wrong with their questions but it is a first for some of my staff becouse they haven't dealt with female members before,one of the examples an over weight member with small breasts wants to lose her fat without losing any size from her breasts some even want to gain size there while losing the weight,well,sorry to disapoint,as the weight come off,there will be a reduction in breast size,but once the target weight is achieved,we can help you to put back some of the weight in muscles you will gain some size back but don't expect to much.
lockers
a member suggested that we should rent our lockers out instead of handing the locker keys to members as they walk in and taking them back on their way out,the reasons for us not to do that:
1-we only have around 40 lockers and over500 members,if all the lockers got reserved this would create a problem for the majority of our members who will end up without lockers.
2-long time ago,i tried this and found out that there were some members who didn't mind wearing their sweaty dirty exercise cloth for days in a row,they kept them in their lockers,guess what,the smell,a new perfume was invented that could be used as a weapon to scare people away.
so becouse of the above we will stick to the current system.
exercise ball
a few members ask me to buy the large exercise ball,sorry the propper name for it slipped my mind,i know that the ball is a good exercise unit but i know for a fact that in a gym like mine that has way over 100 peices of equipment,it is not needed,also for those who don't know how to use it,they will need some one to supervize them in my aerobics section and i don't have the additional staff at the moment,also the safety issue,there is no problem doing exercises with light weight on the ball but if some one tried to handle heavy weights then thats a completly diffrent story and he would be asking for trouble and risking injuries.so for those members who are looking forward to exercise on the ball,please buy your own and workout at your homes.
profesionalism not apreciated
i know i am horrible with spelling,any one out there who wants to dedicate his or her time with helping me with spelling?just kidding.
any way,a while back i was approched by the manegment of the new al areen resort and they wanted me to qive a quotation on setting up their new health center,imagine,they wanted a quotation without giving out any information what so ever,so being the expert that i am i started asking a few questions,for example,how big is the space,what kind of amphisis they want,more of fitness center or an all around center,do they want me to train the staff on some of the equipment that they aren't familiar with,will i be suppling the flooring as well,etc etc,can you believe it they didn't give the answer to my questions and i never heard from them again,i guess what they wanted was for me to say pay me bd100000 and i'll take care of it all.
on the issue of women dress code
a lot of ladies walk in the gym,they love what they see in regards of set up but most would say why just a few lady members around and that they would like to come back and join when i have more lady members,guess what if every lady who walks in says this how can the number increase.a lot of women don't like to be told what to wear they don't like our dress code,i understand that and respect their opinions but it is very hard to please every one,what most don't know that we are located in a conservative area most of my neighbours aren't happy with a mixed gym they tolarate us but it would be a diffrent mattar if it was known that some members are exercising in extremly sexy outfits,i have mothers and wife's calling and saying that they willn't send their children or husbends if there were lady members wearing revealing outfits,i tell them not to worry and i am not a liar,i try to create the perfect inviroment to workout,perfect equipment and instruction,i need members who apreciate what i have done,for the ladies i apologize for the dress code,i think for most if they come and see what kind of set up we have and if they are intrested in results i don't think that they mind wearing their sweat pants instead of shorts and t shirts instead of sleevless tops.now for the male members who want to see more females around,let me remind them that we are not a pick up place there are other places for this kind of activity,we are a respactable place and we would like it to stay that way.
