cardio after weight training

for those of you who combine weight training and cardio on the same day and the priority is weight loss,i would recommend that you start with the weight training first and then move to your cardio workout and half an hour of cardio would be enough,the reason,you would be using your stored energy to have a stronger and better weight training workout,this will deplate your stored energy and you will be left with your own fat to fuel your cardio workout,you see you will be using the right fuel for the task.

for the love of the sport

it is all done for the love of the sport,if most people knew how much money i make they would be surprized why i keep injecting more money into the buisness and buy more equipment,thank good that i am not a very good buisness man becouse if i was i would be depressed becouse i should be making much more than i am making now,i look at my self as one of the best instructors on the island and one who can control the running of the buisness,i would have liked to have possesd better marketing skills.i thank god for every thing but mostly for helping me set up a buisness that i love and that i always wanted to be involved in.history seems to be repeating it self,in saudi my gym was known to be the best gym at the time but i ended up losing money,25years ago people's mentality wasn't what it is today and the intrest in this particular sport wasn't what it is today.now in bahrain my gym is the best and most people know it yet most of the time we just break even.
i know if i made some drastic changes i can make tons of money but by doing so i will be losing the people who truly love the sport becouse they will not be able to afford the place,the way to make money is to turn the gyms into vip places triple the rates have fewer clientle and offer them a slightly better service,buts it is not all about money and i am not a greedy person,as long as people aknowledge what i am contributing to the sport,apreciate my facilities and continue to make progress,i will be happy.

i am training on a 4 way split,i mean i devide my body into 4 parts.
1-back and triceps and abs
2-shoulders and traps and abs
3-quadriceps and hamstring and calfs and lower back
4-chest and biceps and forearms
i train by instinct,i listen to what my body tells me,some times i train one day on and one day off some days i train two days on and one day off i never train three days in a row any more,i realy think that the only people who get very good results from training 3 on and 1 off are those who take steroids,people who train natural should train smart and they need the extra rest days for recovery and to save energy for growth and to have better and stronger workouts.
my sets range from 8 to 12 sets for the bigger muscles and 6 to 9 sets for smaller muscles.
my rep range is between 6 to 12 and i go to failure on every set.

tip of the moment

becouse of an injury in my bicep muscle and tricedp muscle,i was training biceps on back days after back and tricep on chest days after chest,this is one of the ways of setting a training program,pull muscles together,back and bi's and push muscles together chest and tri's,but i had a personal reason to train that way and that is becouse of my injuries, the back workout will work as a good warm up for my biceps it will fatigue them and that will cause me to use less poundage in my bicep workout and less sets as well,the same goes for my chest and tricep.now that i am healed i do biceps after chest and triceps after back,this switch have helped me up the poundege quite a bit in my arm workouts.

new rope climbing machine

i don't think that there is a gym owner in bahrain that spends as much time searching the net looking for new good inventions out there,and guess what there is one,a machine that could be used as a cardio unit or muscle develepment unit,it is a machine that duplicate the rope climbing,you do it from a seated positionand there is a rope that you pull and it rotates as a belt.i promise you guys and galls,i will look into it furthur and there is a very good chance that you will see it within3month at ghassan's gym.i will keep you posted

today i was so upset with a couple of my members,they didn't like how i responded to them,so they left,this is what happend.
two weeks ago a couple of friends joined,one was a biggener,the other was intermediate biggener,they wanted to train together,one of my staff set them up on a program that they have to stay on for2weeks before we increase the sets for them for another2weeks and later we would move them to an intermediate program,a couple of days later they came complaining that they are not happy with the program and they want us to change it for them,i was there and i tried to assure them that we are proffesionals and we care about our clients and that its our priority that they reach their goals becouse if they did then they will keep on renewing their memberships and tell their freinds about their success stories and that would increase our clientle,we told them that here they could either train on their own,in such a case we are not responsible for their succeses or failuers or injuries.or that they could be under our guideness and we would gurantee their results but that they have to follow what we say and the most importent thing was that they must stay the course,stay on the program the full lenth of it,the 2members looked convinced and i reached a compromise with them regarding the program and they asked me to set them up with the right program,my condition was to stick the course and they agreed,i tried to move them into an advanced intermediate program but decided against it becouse their power level was low and their muscles fatiuged to quick,so i went with an intermediate level one program which they were happy with,they were to stay on it for a month before i move them to level two intermediate program,imagine my surprize,disapointment and anger when they told me today and only 10days after being on the program that they are not on it any more,that they didn't like it and that it did nothing to them,what qualification do they have to judge our program,what achievment have they achieved in this sport,who are they to make such comments and after such a short time on a program that should have lasted3month.as instructors we are ready to go out of our way and give more than100% for our members who have faith in us and are willing to listen,but we can't tolorate those who are only intrested in wasting our time and think that they know better.

membership cards

i get a lot of complains from members becouse they don't like to bring their membership card with them every time they come to the gym,i can't understand why they are making such a big deal,when i lived in the states and also on trips to europe it was standerd prosedure to bring your card with you.i want my members to understand that if they bring the cards,it will be easier for us to monitor experations and know our members better espashily if they come sometimes in diffrent hours and recieved by diffrent receptionists.my advice,keep the card always in the car,for those who don't drive,in your wallet,and sorry for the inconvenience.

radio interview

today i was on a show on radio bahrain,it was breif only lasted 15 min,the questions were mainly about our sport,drug abuse and supplementation,but i was surprized that so many called with questions,to bad the show wasn't longer,i hope the station runs another show discussing diets and weight loss or gain.by the way i am always availble to you to anwer any question that falls under my experteize.

ritz carlton

on more than one ocasion,i ran across old members who stoped coming to the gym in a long time,in all cases they locked out of shape,they were saying how they missed working out at my gyms and that they got into they best shape when they were there,when i asked them why don't you come back and resume your workouts,their answer was that they are members at the ritz carlton and that they are not happy with the results,i said to them that if they were uhhappy and getting no where with the results,then they should go to a place that results are guranteed,my gyms,they said,they want to but they can't becouse it is a prectege thing,sorry but thats the most stupid thing that i heard,it's ok to pay over 1000 bd and get bad results,than paying 150 bd and get good results.its a known fact that the ritz has one of the worst gym set up,unless you are going there for the beach or pool or to be pamperd and masssaged,in my humble opinion you would be wasting your money and time.
